Balcony Garden Style Ideas for Small Spaces: Simple Decorating Ideas

Hello everyone! This piece is a bit unique. I want to talk about how you can keep plants on your balcony, but I won’t discuss any particular plants.

Balconies come in a multitude of varieties. others have a ledge, others are open, and some have a grill surrounding it. Let’s look at some plant options that thrive in full sun on balconies and some styling advice.

There’s a grill all around my balcony, but there’s also a plant shelf.

I’ve kept all my plants that require sunshine outside on this ledge. In these ledge areas are some Aloe-Vera, some Mogra from my mom, and roses.

Petunias:

Here is where you may maintain flowering plants like geraniums and petunias. Another option is to purchase long, thin fence planters and line the edge with a large number of vining plants. As they expand, they’ll form a large, hypnotic-looking curtain of plants.

A few simple vine plants:

A few simple vining plants include the money plant (Petoseed), several philodendrons (Brazilian, Micans, Lemon), ivy (English and Swedish varieties), and many more that climb to a great height.

Should your window have only one edge:

You may have a planter edge constructed and maintain bushy or blooming plants if your window has just one edge. From a distance, this will seem adorable and French.

If there are no planter racks at all on your balcony:

If there are no planter racks or ledges on your balcony and you have no way of adding any, you may simply arrange pots along the sides and keep your plants somewhat tall and slender to avoid taking up too much space on the balcony. In order to create the illusion of a true plant canopy, you can also install hooks along the upper edges of the balcony and purchase several hanging pots.

You may purchase wall planters:

Additionally, you may purchase wall planters and utilize whatever small wall space you may have on your balcony. It’s not necessary to place it straight into the wall planter. You may use the wall planter as a cover pot and continue to grow them in their nursery pots. Watering the plant will also be simpler in this approach.

Hanging Plants in Garden:

These resilient plants will infuse any area with a delicate, lovely vibe. They root readily and thrive quickly. Because they are so delicate, you might want to move them slowly. However, even if a few pieces fall off, they will still root if you plant them in soil! They prefer soil that drains well, and they seem to be fairly tolerant of irrigation schedules. I irrigate the soil only when it’s dry. They can withstand low light levels and thrive under strong light.

Money plant or Pothos:

This simply had to be mentioned. A money plant that is necessary for each home. When exposed to the proper light, it develops quickly. Cut back the lanky stems at the node to make it lovely and bushy, then replant them in the hanging pot to continue growing. During the summer, fertilize once a month while keeping the soil just barely damp. Pothos boasts an abundance of variegated leaf cultivars that are remarkably low maintenance.

Ferns:

You don’t have to use hanging planters just for vining plants. It would look amazing with a full, lush Boston fern in a planter! Ferns, in my experience, are easy to become used to in a few of weeks. They detest direct sunlight and prefer bright, indirect light and damp soil. It is therefore ideal for interior use next to a draped window.
